What's New

Version 1.12.two

Version one.12.two:

This update improves an open in Apollo issue, too as a few other small problems.

Version 1.12.1:

Hither's an update with some handy bug fixes and improvements based on great feedback from the Christmas update. Read on!

+ A new, really cool icon from Yannick Lung. It'south of the Apollo mascot in an old school scuba adjust past the incredible Yannick Lung, and I love how the details really make information technology experience like an icon from a nostalgic era of fourth dimension passed. Have been enjoying it a lot on the ol' home screen.
+ Improvements to tabular array rendering. Thanks y'all for sending in some great examples of tables that (alongside Apollo'south new inline table renderer) weren't quite displaying properly, so I've tidied those all up so they should display gorgeously now.
+ Besides tweaked layout algorithm a bit so that some tables that were a bit cramped should display nicer at present.
+ Fixed bug where the "Quote" pick in "Select Text" mode and in the comment composer wouldn't show up.
+ Fixed issues where the subscriber count and number of currently active accounts wasn't showing up in the sidebar (and as well added the short subreddit description to the top of it).
+ Stock-still bug where some links wouldn't be tappable or only the subreddit/user part would be if it was a Reddit link.
+ Stock-still a issues where borer on some user or subreddit links could jump you into the browser/out of Apollo rather than staying in the app (same with Wikipedia links, fixed too).
+ Fixed bug where preview text (similar for a text mail in a subreddit, or underneath an Inbox item) was too nighttime, made it a bit lighter like before so as to alloy in better
+ Fixed a bug with some escaped Markdown characters and those within lawmaking blocks.
+ Fixed a bug around newlines/line breaks in Markdown.
+ Fixed a bug where sometimes you could get a duplicate notification.
+ Stock-still bug where text in private messages could exist visually hard to read due to low dissimilarity.
+ If you tap on a link to u/me, it'll properly load your profile now.
+ Added option in Settings tab > Full general to share Reddit links as their "old.reddit" version.
+ Fixed problems where Apollo was mean to usernames with hyphens in them.
+ Stock-still bug where when comments loaded self text could refresh/wink in a non-cool mode.
+ Stock-still bug where couldn't select the title of the mail service in "Select Text" fashion.
+ If y'all tap on a timestamped YouTube video it will now open to that fourth dimension.
+ Limits comment link previews to 5.
+ Fixed problems where subreddit rules could get cut off at the top slightly.
+ Flattened large groups of newlines in a annotate/post into just two.
+ Fixed bug where code blocks could get cut off at the bottom.
+ Fixed bug where widgets would not evidence upward on iOS xiv.
+ A set up for a crash that could occur on iOS 12 devices. Really sorry about that one, strange bug that was but everything should be in tip top shape now. Equally a note, afterward this update (1.12.1) Apollo will likely require iOS 14 and higher for farther updates. You'll still be able to run Apollo on iOS 12 and 13 just as you lot were before, but new updates will require iOS 14 and higher. Statistically very few Apollo users are still on these older versions (well under 1% of users) and the piece of work to maintain these older versions and put off using prissy, newer iOS features in total (SwiftUI, SceneDelegate, Combine, Swift Concurrency, etc.) is beginning to get a fleck tough to maintain given the small userbase (and I'm just one person building this app), so I figure now'south a practiced a time as for iOS 14 to become the base. Hope that'south understandable.

Hope these first two weeks of 2022 have served you well, and if non, well I endeavour to make the rest happier through Apollo updates!

Admittedly Stellar App, Developer is 🔥

Apollo is past far the most-used app on my phone (and now I have the ScreenTime reports to prove it). Information technology is orders of magnitude improve than the "official" reddit app and is superior in every way. Information technology is fast and smooth and packed with features. I especially love that I tin can pick the theme I want, alter the icon, and remove ads! The matter I hated most about the official app was the ads that were bearded every bit legitimate posts and with Apollo that's all gone!

I bought the Pro upgrade months agone to gain admission to additional features and information technology was one of the few in-app purchases I have never regretted or felt like wasn't worth the cost. Today the developer released an update adding a agglomeration of new features that crave a very reasonable (seems underpriced to be honest) monthly subscription, and like a true bro he has the pick to unlock it for life with a onetime purchase! I detest monthly and even yearly subscriptions so I especially appreciated this pick.

All that by itself should convince yous that this app is worth it, only the thing that really seals the deal is the developer. He is amazing. Super agile with feedback and very open in his communication about the status of the app'south evolution and requested features.

Fantastic Reddit client for iPhone

From commencement utilize, this app is a joy to utilise. It integrates incredibly well with the remainder of iOS. The default settings are more often than not intuitive (especially for get-go time users) and for those places where the app doesn't practise what yous wait, the available options are extensive.

What prompted me to write this review was actually a feature of the Ultra subscription (as well available as a one time purchase). I'd put off purchasing Ultra for a while, as the biggest draw to me was the message/answer notifications simply I even so used Narwhal for that. I recently subscribed to support the programmer, and got my first notification. It's slap-up, it feels like an iMessage notification with a quick reply sheet opening up and then I can respond with the easy option to open the total app equally well.

The one limitation I come across with this app is the iPad interface. Information technology is non as well thought out every bit the iPhone interface; it's basically a scaled up version of the iPhone interface. But as an iPhone app, this is the all-time Reddit customer I've used (I fifty-fifty adopt it over the old and new website on a "real" computer).
